Southern Implants
The Southern Group of biotechnological companies was founded in 1987. Since then, as parent company, Southern Implants has dedicated itself to the manufacturing and distribution of dental implants meeting the highest quality standards. Southern Implants has made a significant contribution during the early days of the implantology, more specifically the osseointegration of dental implants, surgical techniques, etc.
Southern Implants uses an abrasive technique to rub the titanium oxide, therefore it is not 'coating'. The first experiments date back to 1992 and was finally put into service after the validation of the technique in 1997.
The particle size of the abrasive material is set between 75μm and 170μm. Scientific work, of Prof. Wennerberg among others, has shown that the binding of the bone marrow with the titanium is the greatest within this value.
Comparative research of different surface structures by Prof. Szmukler-Moncler has shown that this surface is strikingly consistent and free of foreign particles, in comparison to the other production techniques.
